Saratoga County - Mechanicville Joseph P. Borter of South Street passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at The Springs Nursing Center. He was 75. Born in Cohoes on September 16, 1938, son of the late Fred C. and Lillian (Pelletier) Borter. He is predeceased by the love of his life for the last 37 years, Agnes Burdick. Joe is a Veteran of the US Army, serving from 1956-1957, then reenlisted in the Marine Corp serving from 1958-1961. He retired from the former Leonard Hospital in Troy. Joe is survived by his siblings, Leo (Marie) Borter of Palmyra, VA and Denise (Sam) Borter-Napoli of Troy and Agnes' family whom he loved. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to Agnes and his parents, he is predeceased by his special mother Beatrice Garner who cared for him after his own mother Lillian passed when he was 13 and his siblings Shirley Borter-Terry, Fred Borter, Jr., John Borter and Robert Borter.
