John D. Evanchuk, 82, of Stillwater, NY passed away on April 20, 2025. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force after high school. John was a career law enforcement officer with the U.S. Department of Justice/Department of Homeland Security, stationed in Rousses Point, NY, Miami, FL, Burlington, VT and Hartford, CT. After retirement he moved back to the Albany area, his birthplace, to be close to his family and childhood friends. John was predeceased by his parents, William and Anne Solowey Evanchuk, his brothers Thomas (Susan) Evanchuk and William (Sharon) Evanchuk, and son Michael (Annette) Collins. He leaves his wife, Carole, beloved children Lisa (Kelly) Walters, Douglas Evanchuk, grandchildren Landon, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Caitlyn, Brian, Jillian and great grandson, Weston. Also his nephews, Mark (Jill) Evanchuk and Darren (Courtney) Evanchuk and their children. Services will be held privately graveside at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Community Hospice for their invaluable assistance and support to John.
