Rensselaer County, Schaghticoke John Thomas Durrant of Old Schaghticoke Road passed away on Thursday, March 21 at his residence following a long illness. He was 68. Born in Cohoes on December 23, 1944, son of the late Thomas and Jeannette (West) Durrant. John was employed by Garden Way in Troy where he was a design engineer. In addition to his parents, John is reunited with his daugther Emma Elizabeth Hemstreet Durrant, his brother Thomas Durrant and his father-in-law Stanley W. Hemstreet. Survivivors include Aileen (Hemstreet) Durrant whom he married on August 3, 1978 and their children Greg (Michela) Durrant of Odenton, MD and Alida Durrant of Schaghticoke and his siblings, Beverly (Charles) Davies of Albany, Barbara (Nancy Schwarz) Durrant of North Las Vegas, Robert (Kate) Durrant of Green Island, Anne Marie (Peter)Tentis of Red Wing, MN and his sister-in-law Jackie Durrant of Cohoes as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to the family home at 204 Old Schaghticoke Road, Schaghticoke at anytime from Friday until the prayer service which will be conducted at 6pm on Sunday, March 24.
