John Doriski, Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County John Doriski, Sr. formerly of Hemstreet Road passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Hoosick Falls Health Care Center. He was 91. Born in Lodi, NJ on February 24, 1924, son of the late Pajza (Bihuniak) and Peter Doriski, Sr. He is the husband of the late Viola (Isaacs) Doriski whom he married on July 20, 1946. John graduated from Greenwich Central School and the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL. He served in the US Army in the 542 Parachute Infantry Battalion, attaining the rank of CPL. John worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., retiring in 1983 as Asst. Supv. Of Transmission & Distribution in Troy. He was a very active person that would never shy away from any job or task. He could complete any project and lived life to the fullest, especially when it came to family, friends, sports, work and travel. Survivors include his children: Alvin (Connie) Doriski of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia Doriski Andes and Allene Doriski, both of Schaghticoke. His siblings: Paul (Mary) Doriski of Greenwich, Andrew Doriski and Helen Doriski both of Schaghticoke, George (Barbara) Doriski of Fayetteville, NC and Theodore (Shirley) Doriski of Jacksonville, NC. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a son, John Doriski, Jr. and his siblings, Eva Lenz, Peter Doriski, Jr., Harry Doriski and Anne Doriski. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral services will be at 9:00 am on Wednesday, October 21 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
