John Stephen Donohue of Deerfield Lane passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital. He was 64.

Born in Schenectady on June 23, 1959, son of the late John J. and Rita (Ruggiero) Donohue. He is the husband of Margaret (Anderson) Donohue.

John was originally from Wynantskill and lived in Clifton Park for 30 years before moving to Schaghticoke. He met Margaret in the summer of 1979 through a mutual friend (Colleen Pluckrose). She told Margaret that "there's a cute guy who thinks you are gorgeous and wants to meet you". To which Margaret said, "OK, why not?"… and the rest is history.

John worked as a mechanic for Capital District Transmission in Green Island for many years before retiring. In younger years he liked camping, riding his motorcycle, boating, golfing, fishing and would try anything.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Margaret include a son, John C. Donohue, his daughter in law Brandee L. Silloway, a granddaughter Ryleigh E. Donohue, his sister Diana (Matt) Belles, his brothers Patrick (Stephanie) Donohue and William Donohue as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be from 1-2:00pm on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 2pm with his brother Patrick Donohue officiating.
