Troy, Rensselaer County Jeanette (Speanburg) Connolly of Troy passed peacefully with her devoted family by her side on Saturday, May 16th after a short illness. Jeanette was the daughter of the late Marie LaFond and Arnold Harrington. Born in East Arlington Vermont, Jeanette was a life-long lover of all animals and was never happier than she was when growing up on the farm with her loving father and the menagerie of animals she loved and cared for. She married Richard Speanburg in 1956 and they started their family with four children. She was married for a second time to Mike Connolly and completed her loving family with her fifth child. Jeanette is predeceased not only by her parents but her ex-husband Richard Speanburg, her brother Arnold Jr, and sister Shirley (Don) Cherbonneau. Jeanette is survived by Kirk (Michelle) Speanburg, Scott (Jim) Speanburg, Kim Parker, Eric Speanburg, Brad Connolly and her special daughter Michele LeClaire. She has two half siblings, Dale Senecal and Richard LaFond and later in Dales life, committed herself to Dale as a resource, advocate, friend, and companion. A hard living and working mother, Jeanette raised her family and poured her heart and soul into their happiness. She welcomed 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and continued to shower each young life with her love. Jeanette had true life-long friends in Nellie and Esther who she missed dearly. Her former sister-in-law Bev Cushing remains her friend. Missed in death, Jeanette was a proud and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, friend, sibling, and the center of a wonderful family. She reached into and touched many lives and gave selflessly of herself to others. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you continue that giving with a gift to the Wounded Warrior Project in her name. Her family asks further that you take time today to share a smile with someone, lift someones spirit, call a family member you have not heard from or check on someone struggling. We are at our best when we lift people up and that was a gift she shared always.
