James P. Purdy, Jr. of Stillwater passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at home. He was 37.

Born in Schenectady on January 9, 1987, son of James (Christine) Purdy of Stillwater and Lori (Martin) Warner of Kirkwood.

James was a skilled carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Local #291, Albany. He loved boating, especially on Saratoga Lake and Stewarts Pond. Above all he loved his children and spending time with them.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his children, Jayden Purdy and Avery Purdy and their mother Morgan Witthohn, paternal grandparents Lynn and Pat Purdy, maternal grandmother Shirley Gardner, his siblings Casey (James) Perkins, Dylan Brooks, Alicia Cooper, Robert Palma, Ryan Warner and Lexi Warner, his nieces and nephews Jacob, Tyler, Eliza, Cole, Ella and Christian.

He is predeceased by his brother Joshua Paquette.

Calling hours will be on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10am – 12noon at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. A funeral service will be conducted at 12noon with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.
