Hertha Kasenko, 92, of Schaghticoke, died April 14, 2021 at her residence after a long illness. She was born on December 17, 1928 in Czechoslovakia. Hertha immigrated to the United States in 1956 with her husband and two children and became a United States citizen in 1961. She was the loving wife of the late Alexander Kasenko whom she married on April 12, 1951 and the daughter of the late Karl and Antonia Biefel.
She is survived by her four children: Helene Kasenko of Easton; Natalia and her husband, Kirk Wiley, of Punta Gorda, Florida; Maria and her husband, Ray Payne, of Schaghticoke; and Peter Kasenko of Schenectady. Hertha is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Hertha worked as a seamstress and devoted her love, time and energy to her family. She loved gardening, crocheting and wood carving. She always worked on projects around the home or in the garden and always had a wood carving or craft project or more in progress.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
