Stillwater Saratoga County Helen Sadowski Baker of Hudson Avenue passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Helen was the wife of Arthur F. Baker who passed away on April 24, 2013. Helen was 87. She was born and raised in Riverside/Stillwater on May 6, 1928, daughter of the late Frank and Sadie Sadowski. Helen belonged to the Auxillary of the Henry F. Lefko Post 1644 for 40 years. She was also a member of the Stillwater St. Peters Catholic Church. Helen worked at the Chase Grocery Store on East Street riverside when she was 15 years old. This was her first job. Helen was employed with the Ballston-Stillwater Knitting Mill Company in Stillwater for several years and then went on to work at Tagsons and GAlantes Paper Co. in Mechanicville and Menands for several years until her retirement. Helen raised seven children and also worked all her life. After retirement she enjoyed camping in Lake George and winters in Florida with her husband Art. Survivors include her children, Dawn Baker of Mechanicville, William Biff (Mary Ellen) Baker of Stillwater, Arthur P. Artie (Cathy) Baker of Stillwater, Kathy (Mike) Starks of Stillwater, Ronny (Raina) Baker of Mechanicville, Colleen Seymour of Mechanicville and Starlene (Greg) Manny of Stillwater, grandchildren, Jenny (Joe) Bottisti, Michael Baker, Kayla Baker, Tessa Baker, Kylie Starks, Brittani Manny and Bailyn Manny and great grandchildren Alaina Bottisti and Anthony Bottisti and her loving niece Sharon Tafuto Poselovich. She is predeceased by her grandson Jeremy Seymour brothers John, Edward, Chester, Frank, Stephen, Charles Sadowski and sisters Ann Tafuto and Frances Mace. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday at the All Saints on the Hudson North Church, Stillwater. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, Stillwater.
