Hazel Lillian Brown Davis, passed away peacefully at her home on Brown Road surrounded by her loved ones. She was 91.
Born in Stillwater on June 1, 1919 to the late W. Wallace and Jennie Strang Brown.
Wife of the late Arthur (Tom) Davis who passed away in 2000.
Hazel started school in a one room school house in Wayville, then went onto graduate from Saratoga Springs High School and later received her Business Degree from SUNY Delhi.
When she was strong enough to carry a platter Hazel started working at the Old Homestead Summer Tourist Resort which was owned by her parents. In WWII she worked at G.E. as a machine operator and later at Saratoga Hospital as the Print Shop Operator.
Hazel was active member in the Order Of The Amaranth and The Order Of The Eastern Star where she held many offices on the local and state level.
Survivors include Elsie Eno who was her caregiver and her true and devoted friend for many years whom she called her Kid. As well as her Sister-in-law; Gloria Driscoll.
In addition to her parents and husband Hazel is predeceased by her Brother, W. Wallace Brown Jr. and her cousin Benjamin Marshall Pierce.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home, 729 North Hudson Avenue in Stillwater.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Dunn Funeral Home in Stillwater.
Burial will be in Stillwater Union Cemetery.
