Harold Webster 80, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home in Burlington, NC holding his loving wife Kathy's hand with family by his side.
Harold was born June 6, 1933 in Acra, NY to Raymond and Theresa Webster. Harold grew up in the small town of Acra enjoying the Catskill Mountains in his back yard.
Harold was called upon to serve his country during the Korean Conflict and did so with pride serving in the United States Army. After serving his country Harold began his career in the airline industry where he worked for 30 plus years with US Air. After retirement Harold enjoyed the warmth of Winter and the early Springs of North Carolina. He enjoyed his Big Band Music and was an avid traveler to Vegas and abroad. Harold's greatest passion was his love of horses and the Saratoga Race Track. Harold's love of horses was known by all and his passion for it enabled his way to the Winner's Circle in Saratoga with "Sailor Joe".
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Theresa, and brother Raymond.
Harold is survived by his wife Kathy Wang, step-daughter Xing-Yin, Sister; Mary (Harry) Hermann, Son; Tom (Jane) Webster, Daughters; Sue (Ken) Johnston, Ellen (Steve) Kemp, Linda (Bill) Cahill, Diane (Mark) Coleman. Harold was "POPPY" to 14 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 10:30am to 12:30pm Friday October 4, 2013 at Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Ave Stillwater, NY. Burial will immediately follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duel Road, Schuylerville, NY.
Memorials may be made to Old Friends of Cabin Creek, Cabin Creek Farm, 483 Sandhill Road, Greenfield Center, NY 12833 in honor of Harold.
