Stillwater, Saratoga County H. William Bill Gronczniak of Route 9p passed away at St. Marys Hospital in Troy on Thursday, May 28, 2015. He was 82. Born in Mechanicville on December 23, 1932, son of the late Andrew Henry and Mary (Morchnski) Gronczniak. He is the husband of the late E. Marie (Lane) Gronczniak. Bill worked for General Electric and was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War. Following his service he returned to General Electric and retired as a shift supervisor. He is a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, American Legion Post 91, Mechanicville, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2586, and a member of the Arvin Hart Fire Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his children, William M. Gronczniak of Phoenix, AZ, Bruce E. (Nancy) Gronczniak of Peyton, CO, Brian D. Gronczniak of Stillwater, Robert A. (Dyan) Gronczniak of Jacksonville, FL and Barry J. Gronczniak of Schenectady, his grandchildren, Michelle, Lucia, Nikki, Tania, Ben, Crystal, Rebecca, Jason, Jeffrey and Taylor and 9 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 2-5:00pm on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday at 12 noon at All Saints on the Hudson, North Church (Formerly St. Peters). Burial with military honors will be in the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery, Stillwater. There will be a gathering following the interment at the American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater.
