Hausler, Gretchen Melrose, Rensselaer County Gretchen Hausler, 86, of Melrose passed away peacefully on October 10, 2014 with her loving family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, George J. Hausler. Born in Mamaroneck, NY to Emil Ruch, Sr. and Ottilie Neuman Ruch, she was also predeceased by sisters Alma Podneek, Ida Mullins, Freda Revella, Beatrice Murcek, Elsie South and a brother, Emil Ruch, Jr. Gretchen worked her entire life, doing bindery work for her husband's printing business when her daughter was young, later at United Hospital in Port Chester, Union Carbide in White Plains and various other jobs. Her most fulfilling job and greatest joy was when she and George moved to Melrose to care for their two granddaughters. Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mann, son-in-law Kim Mann and granddaughters Hillary and Courtney Mann, with whom she has lived for the past eight years. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery with her husband.
