Schuylerville Saratoga County. Grace Etta Greene of Route 32 passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was 100. Born in Fairhaven, VT on November 13, 1913, daughter of the late Brock and Hazel (Tryon) Walker. She is the wife of the late Herbert Greene whom passed away in 1976. Grace was employed by Barkley's Manufacturing in Cohoes where she was an inspector. She also worked for the priests at Assumption/St. Paul in Mechanicville. Survivors include her daughter, Betty H. Rood of Stillwater, her brother Ralph Walker of Westhaven, VT, her grandchildren, Jeanne Rood (Wayne) Steele of Malta, Debra Rood (Jim) Brown of Mechanicville, Janice (Brian) Rood of Stillwater, Alaine Rood Wood of Mechanicville and Walter "Butchie" Rood, Jr., of Stillwater. Also survived by a grandson in law, Joseph Baker of Schuylerville and many great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brother, Cyrus John Walker, granddaughters Sharon Baker and Lauren Alderman, great grandsons Jason P. Baker and Anthony Risti and a great great grandson Nicholas Martin. Special thanks to Peggy, Pat Chase and the girls from Hospice. Funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 11:00am with Rev. Kelly M. Ballard, officiant. Burial will follow at 1:30pm in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Benson, VT.
