Halfmoon, Saratoga County George C. Kupiec, longtime resident of Schaghticoke, passed away after a long illness at home surrounded by his loving family on 5/22/2022. George was born in Troy on October 4th, 1948 to the late George & Mildred (Bolesky) Kupiec. George is joining the love of his life, wife Elaine M. (Funking), who passed away on 4/4/2020. George attended Hoosic Valley and later transferred to La Salle, where he graduated from in 1966 before continuing his education at HVCC. George was a truck driver for over 40 years, retiring from Clemente Latham Concrete. He enjoyed anything truck-related, John Deere, Buicks old and new and his breakfasts at various diners throughout the area. Survivors include his cherished son, Matthew Kupiec of Halfmoon, brother Kenneth (Heather) Kupiec, sister-in-law Peg Funking and brothers-in-law Stanley Funking & David Klink. George is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. George was predeceased by siblings Chester (Paula) Kupiec, Katherine Klink and Robert Kupiec. The family would like to thank Dr. Roglieri, Dr. Arora & Dr. Dhanani for all their care, the wonderful nurses and staff at Rubin Dialysis Center in Clifton Park & all the caring nurses at Samaritan Hospital. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, May 27th at Chase-Smith Funeral Homes, 173 Main St. Schaghticoke, NY 12154 from 4:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will take place the following day, Saturday, May 28th at St. Johns Church in Schaghticoke at 10am, where his wife Elaine will also be remembered due to services being restricted when she passed away due to the pandemic.
