Mechanicville, Saratoga County Francis W. Baker of Francis Street passed away suddenly but peacefully at his residence on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was 85. Born in Hubbardton, Vermont on August 5, 1929 a son of the late Paul Z. and Nora (Root) Baker. He is the husband of Marion (Drury) Baker whom he married on August 4, 1962. Mr. Baker was always an educator and after obtaining his Masters Degree from SUNY Albany, he went on to teach at Richmondville Central School for a year and retired after 37.5 years of service at the Shenendehowa Central School System. He embodied the values of education, family, faith and he enjoyed gardening. Survivors in addition to his wife of 52 years, Marion include their loving children, Anne-Marie (Tony) Barone of Clifton Park, Frederic D. (Rex) Baker of Trumbull, CT and Ellen B. (Shannon) Shine of Clifton Park. His siblings, Gary M. (Ellen) Baker of Troy, Suzanne (Steve) Lucas of Manahawkin, NJ and Judith M. (Geoff) Baker of Albany, his sister in laws Mary P. Baker of SC and Ethel B. Baker of FL., he is the beloved De-De of Ashleigh J. (David) Bonzerato, Anthony A. Barone, Alexis O. Shine, Rachael C. Shine, Victoria G. Barone and Timothy B. Shine. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Elizabeth A. Ryan, Edward S. Baker, Paul T. Baker, Otis R. Baker and Donald A. Baker. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday at 12 noon at the All Saints on the Hudson, South Church, 121 No. Main Street Mechanicville. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Pauls Cemetery, Mechanicville.
