Stillwater, Saratoga County Floyd H. Lewis, Jr. of Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital in Troy. He was 81.
Born on March 11, 1929 in his grandmothers home in Easton, he was a son of the late Floyd and Marjorie (Wade) Lewis, Sr.
Floyd was a truck driver for the Teamsters Local #294, Kilby Bros., Inc., retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the Greenwich B.P.O.E. Lodge #2223, the Sons of the American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of South Glens Falls. Floyd was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Schaghticoke. His favorite past times included Euchre for which he always carried a fresh pack of cards with him and going to locally sponsored breakfasts or dinners to benefit the community. He was a very kind man and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his siblings and their spouses, Edna Young of Stillwater, Albert R. and wife Ruth Lewis of Johnsonville, Robert W. Lewis of Stillwater, Frederick Lewis of Stillwater, Marjorie and husband David Everts of Stillwater, Thomas and wife Barbara Lewis of Gansevoort, Bernard and wife Lisa Lewis of Stillwater, his dear friends Anna Burrello and sons Gus, Paul and Kevin, Jackie Phinney and her daughters Jorjana, Risa and Mackenzie, Scott Salvadore as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by siblings Franklin Lewis, Lois Giroux, Anna Thompson, Edward Lewis, Ruth Lewis, Mary Lewis, Joseph Lewis and a dear friend Carol Phinney.
Relatives and friends may call from 3-7 on Thursday, January 27 at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 729 (Formerly 121) Hudson Avenue, Stillwater.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Clyde McCaskill, officiating.
Memorial contributions in Floyds memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
