Johnsonville, Rensselaer County Eugene Vito Foster passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 21, 2022 with his loving family at his side. He was 83. Born in Troy on September 28, 1938, son of the late Durward and Lillian (Seymour) Foster. He is the husband of Marjorie Ann (Baucus) Foster who he married in 1962. Gene attended Hoosic Valley and served in the US Navy from 1957-1963 and fondly referred to those years as the "best years of his life". He went on to work for St. Gobain Company (Norton) and retired in 1994. He was a 39 year member of the Elks. He loved camping in the Adirondacks and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie include his brother Donald (Cheri) Foster of Schaghticoke, his sister Linda (Walter) Vogt of Schaghticoke, his brother in law Charles Brock, sister in law Sandra Foster of Slingerlands and brother in law Randy Paulo of Johnsonville, his niece Mary Ann Paulo (Chris) Carangelo of Binghamton, his great nephews, Richard L. Hynes, Connor Carangelo and Caden Carangelo as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Robert Foster, his sister Donna Brock and his sister in law Louise Paulo. Special thanks to his nieces Brenda Taber, Nikki Daigle and his nephew Joe Vogt for their compassion and care for Gene. At Genes request, there will be no services.
