Melrose- Eugene Alvin Anderson of River Road, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital in Troy. He was 84. Born on February 15, 1927 in Huntington, NY, son of the late Thor and Hazel (Chase) Anderson. He is the husband of the late Patricia (Eagan) Anderson whom he married on August 8, 1947. Mr. Anderson was a farmer and carpenter, he owned and operated the Anderson Farm in Melrose. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors, square dancing and bowling. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by their son, Barry Anderson, a grandson Brandon Piterniak, and a nephew Mark Eagan. Survivors include their children, Greg Anderson of Melrose, Karl and wife Jo Ann Anderson of Stillwater, Michael Anderson of Albany, Patty and husband Rick Anderson of Melrose and Robert and wife Karla Anderson of Ballston Lake. Two brother in laws, Robert Eagan of Waymart, PA and George and wife Judy Eagan of East Moriches, NY, one sister in law, Sally Armendinger of St. Petersburg, FL., his grandchildren, Rene Wilday of Stillwater, Eric Anderson of Pittsfield, MA, Meriah Anderson of Clifton Park, Tyler Rubino of Melrose, Ella & Brice Anderson of Ballston Lake, his great grandchildren Ashton, Jameson, Amelia, Sarah, Lacey and Rebecca, a cousin, Robert Anderson, his nieces and nephews, Sally Armendinger, Kathy Risch, Frank Armendinger, Steve Armendinger, Gary Eagan, Craig Eagan, Jill Fechter and Ken Eagan. Also survived by close family friends, Ryan Greenhall and family. Relatives and friends may call from 5:30- 7:30pm on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 7:30 with Ryan Greenhall, officiating.
