Johnsonville, Rensselaer County Eric T. Hemmings of Johnsonville passed away after being stricken at his sons home while tending to the chickens, ducks and turkeys on Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was 64. Eric was born on April 10, 1953 in Troy, son of the late John Jack and Minnie Mae (Fisher) Hemmings. A graduate of Hoosic Valley Central Schools, class of 1972, he attended BOCES where he focused on mechanics. He was employed by Phillips Medical Center in Latham and is a past member of the Hemstreet Park Fire Department. He loved Stewarts and frequenting the local Agway Feed Store. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. His friends would always look forward to seeing him on the next go round. Survivors include a son, Kyle T. Hemmings of Johnsonville, his sister Jackie Greinert of Schaghticoke, his grandchildren, Kylin and Logan, James, twins Nathan and Ivan and Quaid as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his son, Jason T. Hemmings and his sister Sheila Simmons. Services for Eric will be private and at the convenience of his family.
