Obituary

Mechanicville, Saratoga County Elizabeth Betsy J. Warren of Mechanicville, formerly of Johnsonville, passed away at The Grand at Pawling Nursing Center on Thursday, May 26, 2016. She was 79. She was born on March 11, 1937 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Albert and Lillie (Blankenship) Sharp. She is the widow of the late Wesley Warren. She attended West Canada Valley Schools. She retired from Samaritan Hospital in Troy where she was a unit secretary. She was a social, witty and optimistic person and her kind and generous nature will be missed by all who loved her. She loved cats, especially her beloved Rascal, and helped any veterans aid organization she could. She is survived by two sisters in law, several cherished nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her siblings, Jesse, Everett, James, Gladys, Barbara and Robert. She is also predeceased by Roger Irwin who was like a son to her. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 8:30am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
