Obituary

Elizabeth Rose "Beth" McCarthy passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Ellis Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was 76. Born in Clifton Park on December 31, 1941, daughter of the late Marshall W. and Alice M. (Johnson) Jackson. She is the wife of Daniel F. McCarthy whom she married on June 11, 1961. Beth worked for various companies as an administrative assistant, most recently at Provider Consulting Services in Clifton Park. In earlier years, Beth coached and also managed the Halfmoon Lassie League. She was a talented seamstress and would design and make several dresses always with her life long best friend Rosemary Finnerty. She was involved in her grandchildrens activities and enjoyed going to their events. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband Daniel of Mechanicville, she is survived by her children, Danette (Gino) Holzer of Bethlehem, PA, Thea (Richard) Jones, Sean (Marilyn) McCarthy, Rebecca Hagadorn (Randy Glazebrook) all of Mechanicville, her sister, Marsha (William) Serba of Ballston Lake. Also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Alicia, Elizabeth, Daniel, C.J., Brandon, Ethan, Sean, Liam, Seana, Hunter as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister, Janet Kendall. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7:00pm on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Clifton Park Village Cemetery.
