Elizabeth Fascia
Albany, Albany County
Four months after the passing of her husband and soul mate of 63 years, John, Elizabeth "Boopie" Fascia,82,died suddenly. Medical diagnosis aside, cause of death was a broken heart.
She was born in Mechanicville on June 25, 1932. Nicknamed "Betty Boop" or Boopie" early on in life, she graduated from Mechanicville High School with high honors in 1949. In 1951, she married John, and they shared a near fairy tale marriage for 63 years. Their love and devotion to each other was awe-inspiring to everyone blessed enough to know them. They raised 3 daughters, as well as a host of auxiliary "kids", and then adults, who wanted to be part of their family. They nurtured and raised 3 smart, strong, yet loving women who will be their legacy.
Boopie was beautiful, brilliant, and elegant, yet classy and real. She and John travelled the globe. She was a voracious reader, and she loved the theatre, movies, and anything literary.
She was a true Democrat who embraced liberal causes. Although an octogenarian, she was a modern woman in many ways. She gave so much love to everyone, and was loved in return., but in the end, it was all about John, and she wanted to go with him. Last Friday night, God granted her wish.
She leaves to mourn, her 3 daughters and their spouses, Cheryl Coleman-Walley(Larry), Cindy Fascia(Katherine Crouch), and MaryBeth Daloia (John), as well as grandchildren Brian Coleman, Zachary and Alexandra Manrique, Shalisha Washburn, and Cassidy and Terry Daloia, as well as a great-grandson Aengus Washburn. She was a second mother to many, including the fourth "sister", Barbara Kipp. She is also survived by her sister in law Anna Izzo, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to John, she was reunited in Heaven with her parents, Armand and Mary Izzo, her brothers, Jack and Armand Izzo, and her granddaughter, Caitlin Coleman.
