Valley Falls, Rensselaer County Elinor H. Faulkner of North Street passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at home following a long illness. She was 73. Born on April 17, 1949 in Schenectady, daughter of the late Earl and Bessie (Riedell) Jackson. She is the wife of John Faulkner, whom she married in 1979. Elinor worked as a private duty LPN. She was an active member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Always active, she was a member of the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad, the Mechanicville Knitting Club, the Valley Falls Knitting Group and Red Hat Society. To the scouts, she was known affectionately as "Ellie the Cake Lady", as she was active for years with Cub Scout Pack 680, Melrose and the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 49, Valley Falls. Truly her husband, Johns accomplice, she was never afraid to help him when he would be asked to portray Santa Claus or with any of his various off the wall projects. Survivors include her children, Glen (Anna) Sharpe of Colonie, Cathy (Robert) Holt of Schenectady and Kevin Sharpe of Johnsonville. Her sister, Katherine (Joseph) Doty of South Glens Falls, beloved grandchildren Tyler Sharpe, Kayla Sharpe, Brianna Sharpe, Kyle Sharpe, Hunter Sharpe and her 3 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Patricia Quick and Sherri Jackson. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7:00pm on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church, 16 State Street, Valley Falls. A funeral service will be conducted in the church at 7:00pm with burial in the spring of 2023 in Elmwood Cemetery.
