Schenectady, Schenectady County Eleanor Dahlin, lifelong Schenectady resident, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Glendale Nursing Facility. She was 94. Born in Springfield Garden, Long Island on July 22, 1921, daughter of the late Carl and Sophie (Syvertsen) Jensen. She is the widow of Purcell Dahlin who passed away in 2012. Eleanor worked as a book keeper for most of her life. Survivors include her children, Mark (Beverly) Dahlin of Gansevoort, Susan Myren of Gansevoort and Mary Ann (Ronald) Kermani of Clifton Park, her sisters in law Judith Pagois and Jean Gallo and brother in law Robert Dahlin as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband of 60 years Purcell, she is predeceased by her 9 siblings. Relatives and friends may call from 2-4pm on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 4pm. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
