Obituary

Edward Pierce Reynolds of Akin Road passed away on June 25, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY after an illness, having lived a full and meaningful life of 76 years.

Born in Troy on October 8, 1949, Ed was the son of the late William and Anna (Herrington) Reynolds. He was raised in Johnsonville, NY and graduated from Hoosic Valley High School in 1967 before earning an Associate Degree from SUNY Cobleskill and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Defiance College in Ohio.

Following his graduation, Ed began working at Willard Mountain. This place would prove especially meaningful because it is where he met the love of his life, Mary. He started his career as a science teacher in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District before transitioning into sales roles that ultimately led him to his true passion: founding and operating The Reynolds Group in Schaghticoke, NY in 1990.

In April of 1975, at Greenwich United Church, Ed married his beloved wife, Mary Schneible. Together they shared more than 51 years of love, partnership and unwavering devotion, building a life deeply rooted in family.

Ed was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church in Johnsonville, where he found great joy in fellowship and service.

A deeply patriotic man, Ed brought warmth, generosity and dedication to everything he touched. When he was not immersed in his business, he loved traveling, exploring new places and spending time golfing, fishing and skiing. Above all, Ed was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father and proud "Papa." He will be remembered for the way he showed up for others with consistency, stories, humor and quiet strength.

He is survived by his three sons, Jason (Amy) Reynolds, Matt (Meghan) Reynolds and Aaron Reynolds (Trish Alaskey). He was a proud grandfather to Makayla, Conner, Warren, Grace and Bennett, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Carol) Reynolds and Ted (Debbie) Reynolds, along with his beloved dog, Duke and his constant companion, Charlie the cat.
