Edward (Eddie) D. Raymond passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 after a long courageous battle with bladder cancer, with his loving family by his side. He was 80 years old.

Born in Troy, NY on July 7, 1945, son of the late Frank G. and Ann (Goverski) Raymond. Eddie was a 1963 graduate of Stillwater Central School.

He married the love of his life Barbara (Ontkush) Raymond on May 11, 1968 at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Stillwater, NY.

Eddie joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1963 where he participated in the shallow water rescue team for Gemini IV and V. He served in Viet Nam from 1966-1967. He worked at General Electric in Waterford for 38 years as a control operator retiring in January of 2006. Eddie could be seen running the roads near his home for many years. He loved college football and was a loyal New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his children Chad (Laura) Raymond of Silver Spring MD, Bryan (Hadiye) Raymond of Schenectady, NY. Also survived by his five cherished grandchildren Alexander, Naz, Defne, Ella and Oliver as well as his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Frank, sister Mary Noyes and his faithful dog Cassidy.

A special thank you to Dr. Tallat Mamood, and staff at Roswell Cancer Center at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Especially his nurses Lisa and Kim and the doctors and nurses at Stratton VA Hospital and their care team. A very special thank you to our family and friends who were there to help us through this difficult time.

Calling hours will be from 10am – 12 noon on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon with burial to follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery with military honors.
