Clifton Park, Saratoga County Edward P. Skip Messick, Jr., of Halfmoon Circle passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 60. Born in Troy on July 15, 1957, son of the late Edward and Janet (Brunick) Messick, Sr. Skip was a certified journeyman ferrier and had been shoeing horses since 1975. He was a member of the Grafton Trail Riders and the Green Island Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed vacationing in Maine and loved horses and animals. Survivors include his children, Angela (Mark) Sheline, Chad Messick and Casey Messick, his siblings, Scott (Patty) Messick, Mary Beth (Gary) Gratton and Janice (Dan) Wardwell. Also survived by his granddaughter Julianna and his companion, Sue Koerner. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Susan Messick Wagner. Relatives and friends may call from 10am-2pm on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke.
