Schaghticoke Rensselaer County Edward F. Hoffman, Jr., of Hansen Road passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, February 4, 2011. He was 59. Born on September 14, 1951 in Niskayuna, son of Eugenie (DuFaux) Hoffman and the late Edward Hoffman, Sr. Ed was a graduate of Shaker High School and then went on to work as a truck driver at General Electric in Waterford for 38 years and belonged to the General Electric Silicone Products Division Hazmat team, Waterford, NY. He was Past Chief of the Hemstreet Park and Schaghticoke member of the Board of Directors of the Village of Schaghticoke Fire Department. Ed also belonged to the Early Engine Club as well as the Tri State Antique Tractor Club Inc.. Survivors in addition to his Mother Eugenie include a daughter, Jennifer Roarke of Eagle Bridge, a son George (Jackie Parmelee) Hoffman of Schaghticoke, one brother, Robert Hoffman of Schaghticoke and a sister Janet and husband Ross Bender of Argyle. Also survived by his grandchildren, Adrianna and Kelsie Roarke of Eagle Bridge. Also survived by several aunts & uncles & cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents on both sides Relatives and friends may call from 11:00AM to 2:00PM on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Hoosic Valley Community Church, Route 40, Schaghticoke.
