Speanburg, Earl L. Johnsonville, Rensselaer County Earl L. Speanburg of Akin Road passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital. He was 93. Born on March 31, 1925 in Valley Falls, son of the late Earl and Eva (Cross) Speanburg. He is the husband of Regina Ann (Bruns) Speanburg whom he married on June 9, 1951. Earl served in the US Army from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He was a parishioner of the former St. Monicas Church. He worked for Ford Motor Company, the Boston and Maine Railroad, the Valley Falls Mills and most recently the Hoosic Valley Central School System as head custodian. He enjoyed small engine repair, hunting, camping, fishing and taking his dogs for walks. Above all he was a loving family man and cherished spending time with them. Survivors in addition to his wife Regina include his daughters, Donna Speanburg and Cynthia A. (Edward) Kyea, his granddaughter Alexis Kyea and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Duane, Kenneth, Donald and Richard Speanburg and Helen Oliver. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 10:00am-12:00 noon at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. A funeral service will be conducted at noon in the funeral home with interment in St. Johns Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
