Dorothy Mildred Moomie (Hayner) Gooley passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home. She was 95. Born on November 6, 1922 in Stillwater, daughter of the late Fred and Grace (VanVranken) Hayner. She is the widow of Allen H. Gooley who passed away in 1992. Mildred worked as a secretary for the Westvaco Pulp and Paper Company in Mechanicville. Following retirement, she worked as a rural mail carrier. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fort Knightly Club and the Stillwater United Church where she was a member of the Womens Society and a 70 plus year member of the choir. She also served as secretary/treasurer for the Stillwater Union Cemetery Association. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Dorothy Mintz, Joan (Clyde) Nicholson, Richard (Beth Decota) Allen, William (Diane) Patrick, Nancy (Kurt) Dano, JoAnn (Rick) Cooper, Warren (Toma) Gooley, Rachel (Nathan) Gray and Danny (Ashley) Mintz as well as her sister in law Joan Allen. She is predeceased by her brother Fredrick Hayner. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater.
