Dorothy Bolesky, age 89, of Millard Road passed away on May 9, 2014. She was born on December 26, 1924 in Easton, NY. Dot received her degree as a Registered Nurse from Russell Sage College and began practicing at Rochester General Hospital and eventually became a school nurse for Lansingburgh School Systems. Dorothy was famous for her cooking and was a talented seamstress.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Felix (Phil) Bolesky. She was a devoted and loving mother to Lorraine (Peter) Karassik of Tidewater, OR, Craig (Sharon) Bolesky of Rochester, and Bruce Bolesky (Kristen) of Latham. She was a beloved grandma (Mema) to Nishan, Shauna, Aysia, Victoria, Hannah and Blake and great grandma to Nico, Calder and Bryce. Dorothy is also survived by her nieces, nephews and many friends. Dot dedicated her life to her family, friends and church, The Highway Tabernacle in Mechanicville. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and will be remembered most for her kind and generous heart and her unfailing faith in God.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Monday, May 12 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, May 13 at the Highway Tabernacle Church, 235 Hudson Avenue, Mechanicville. Burial will be in the Easton Rural Cemetery.
