Ladies and Gentleman....Elvis has left the building On January 4th while the snow fell and muted the sounds of the world Donna Penk took her last breath. Born in Albany, NY she lived most of her life in the Ballston Lake and Ballston Spa areas. She met the love of her life Ken (KP) when she was 13 and they married in 1970 enjoying a total of 56 years with one another. Together they had three daughters Tracey Penk-Masucci (Joe), Tammy Penk-Hill (Todd) and Donna Lee who left this earth and returned to heaven before she could take a whisper of air. Grandma to Maddie, Spencer, Cello, Reece and Wawa to Gabby she loved being a non-traditional grandmother who taught poker instead of baking cookies and cursing instead of crocheting. Non-traditional or traditional she loved her grandchildren fiercely and treasured moments spent with them. When she wasn't working her job as a mom and wife she worked at Lakeside Farms for over 30 years as a retail comedian. If she never insulted you the chances are she didn't like you and you could take that and bet on it. Speaking of betting that was her hobby. Gambling was a passion whether it was a casino, a poker game, a Texas Holdem game or a bad investment with a friend she loved taking risks. She lived her life full of laughter and love, smiles and jokes. She didn't meet someone without leaving a lasting impression. In addition to Kenny, their daughters and families Donna is survived by her sister Kathy Sherwood, her best friend of over 40 years Judy Gemmett and an amount of nieces and nephew that could likely pack a stadium. She also leaves behind her sister in law Sue and brother in law Ken who always managed to make her light up even on her hardest days. She leaves at the poker table her faithful pals who she adored and most of her money, because while she could play a mean game of Words with Friends or Scrabble she didn't have the same streak of luck with gambling all the time. Miss Donna as she was referred to by some was predeceased by her mom Dot and siblings Dick (Louise), Bill (Joan) and Renie. A celebration of her life in the form of a party will take place when it is safe to do so. In lieu of flowers, Donna's legacy would be honored if you called someone you haven't spoken to in a long time and telling them you love them. Buying a lottery ticket, placing a bet at a casino, betting on a horse are also ways to honor Donna as well.
