Donald Jay Starr, 69, of Stillwater son of Horton and Alice (Simpkins) Starr. Passed away July 22nd, due to heart related issues.

He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Richard, Kenneth, and Ellen (Lawrence) Starr.

He is survived by his sister Eileen (Thomas) Adams, his loving wife Joanne (Bohnet), sons Jason (Susan), Joseph, Johnathan (Danielle) and Jared Starr. Don always loved kids, fathered four sons, whom he was always there for. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren. Maddison, Lillian, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Sawyer, Isaac, Savannah, Matthew and Anderson.

Don grew up in North Albany attending Philip Schuyler School early in life he sang and played guitar in a band, with his side burns many likened him to Elvis. He met Joanne the love of his life when they were just 15 and 14 respectively. They later wed in their early twenties before moving to Saratoga County where he became a founding member of Temple Baptist Church and came to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. He was very driven with a great work ethic and all but single handedly built his own house. He loved all things mechanical, never stopped learning, with his TV most often tuned to History or Discovery with a bowl of Neapolitan Breyers ice cream. Don was known for his distinct, infectious, and bursting laugh which he did often, being known for his humor and being a jokester. He was very generous with his time and skills and helped out family, friends and the community alike.

Equally precious to the Lord, Don was a man who truly loved his wife, showed up as a trustworthy friend, offered kindness to strangers, conducted honest business & was generous to all. Now, through this legacy he built, we have the honor of saying "That was our Dad."
