Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County Donald C. Bevis of Chestnut Street passed away on August 3, 2016 as result of an automobile accident. He was 75. Born in Schaghticoke on June 24, 1941, son of the late John and Mabel (Lesson) Bevis. Don was a self employed carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Survivors include his sister, Alice Waldron, his brother John (Phoebe) Bevis, both of Schaghticoke, his nieces and nephews, Leroy (Cindy) Waldron of Speigletown, Rick Waldron of Westchester, Bill Waldron of Schaghticoke, Debbie (Craig) Van Wie of Lake Luzurne, Gregory (Heidi) Waldron of Schaghticoke, John (Lisa) Bevis of Saratoga Springs, Jacqueline Bevis of Queensbury, Diane (Hal) Wiley of TN and Barbara (Gary) Charlesbois of Schaghticoke. Also survived by special friends, Red Russell, Bruce Rowlands, John Williams, Frank Williams, Pete Darrow, Mike Darrow, Ray Millard, Dave Beecroft and Bill Donovan. A celebration of Dons life will be held from 1-5:00pm on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the home of his nephew, Gregory Waldron, 342 Buttermilk Falls Road, Schaghticoke.
