Diane M. Stannard of Sherman Hill Road, Melrose, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Cape Cod Hospital. She was 62. Born on December 17, 1948 in Tewksbury, MA, daughter of the late Leslie and Gertrude (Shoemaker) Reckner. She is the wife of John Stannard whom she married in 1972. Diane was a homemaker, raising her family and caring for her granddaughter Amelia. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. At the time of her passing, she was traveling to Provincetown with her husband John celebrating their 39th Wedding anniversary. Diane was the Treasurer of the Melrose United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, John Stannard of Melrose, her son, Jeffrey and wife Donna Stannard of Schaghticoke and their daughter Amelia Stannard. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Melrose United Methodist Church, Rt. 40, Melrose.
