Miller, David Edward, Island Pond, VT Miller, David Edward, 60, of Island Pond, VT and longtime resident of Johnsonville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 27, 2016. David was born July 20, 1955 in Cohoes to Robert and Claire Miller. He was a loving and devoted husband of Mary Ann (Jones), loving father of Joshua (Sarah) of South Carolina and Jeremy (Shelbi) of Mechanicville. He was a graduate of Northern Adirondack Central School of Ellenburg. After high school, David enlisted into the Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Infantry, where he was injured, becoming a disabled Vietnam Veteran. He loved taking long rides in his Mustang to car shows and on adventures with his wife Mary Ann. David enjoyed spending time working outside and doing house projects with his sons. An active member of the community, including supporting his son's sports teams and the Valley Falls Youth Commission, he was always looking to help those in need around him, especially the elderly and his close friends, the Wiley family. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by five siblings and is survived by eight other siblings, several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 11:00am 1:00pm on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at 2pm in the Saratoga National Cemetery In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to demonstrate a random act of kindness in his honor, as he was always helping others in the community.
