David (Dave) Anthony Kohls, 25, of Stillwater passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence. David was the oldest, beloved child of his mother Tracy Dame Kohls (Renee Goyer) and his father David H. Kohls Jr. Born on May 5th 1992 in Troy NY.
He graduated from Mechanicville High School in 2010 with many accomplishments including being inducted to the National Honor Society and was named scholar athlete several times. He played football from Flag up to his senior year but his passion was wrestling. We loved watching him on the mat and especially when we all cheered him on for his 100th Varsity career win! He also wrestled in the off season with Titan Wrestling club where he formed another family. They gave him the opportunity to wrestle in so many new states while making lifetime memories with some great friends and amazing coaches and mentors. Most recently he was attending the University of Albany. David was employed by Beacon Health Options in Latham, NY As an Eligibility Specialist. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as the Boston Celtics and loved working out at the gym. David was a cat lover and will be sorely missed by his girls, Quillow, Piper, Autumn, & Willow.
Survivors in addition to his parents are his siblings, Joshua Kohls and Kaylyn Kohls. He was the beloved Grandson to David H Kohls, Sr, Joann Yearsley, Roland Dame, Marilyn Dame, Michael Shumpis, and the late Joann Shumpis. David is also survived by several aunts, uncles & cousins, his girlfriend, Liz and her 2 daughters, Nevaeh & Bella, as well as many close friends & co-workers.
David was predeceased by his great-grandparents, June Miles, and Roland & Lillian Dame.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of our friends and loved ones for all there kindness and generosity this past week. We couldnt have made it through without each of you. We will all miss that beautiful smile so very much. Also, a special thanks to Mike Ziegler and the responding Investigators and Troopers of the NYS Troopers for the compassion they showed at this difficult time.
