Duane was born in Brighton Ind on June 15, 1938, the oldest of 5 children. He graduated from Howe Ind High School in 1957. He entered the USAF in 1957 receiving an honorable discharge in 1961. Duane went on to Glen Cove Bible College of Rockland Maine graduating in 1975 as President of his class. He went on to Grace Theological Seminary of Winona Lake Ind and was ordained a pastor by the Berean Bible Board in Chicago Ill. Duane is the father of 6 children: Stephen Paul Mishler [Carol Ann] / Stratford Wisc, Mark Allen Mishler [Pat] / Fredericksburg Va, Cindy Lee Mishler / Stillwater NY, Carol Sue Mishler Foster [Mike] / Lake Mills Wisc, Michael John Mishler [Jaimee] / Lewiston Maine, David Duane Mishler / Ballston Spa NY. Duane is also the grandfather of 5 grandchildren: Rachael Mishler Helwig [Carey], Judith Mishler Turner [Justin], Erin Foster, Zachary Foster, and also Josiah Mishler [Kyla] / Dubuque Iowa. Duane also has 13 great-grandchildren: William, Rebecca, Hannah, Andrew, Roger, Elizabeth and Henry Helwig ; Jeremiah, Jonathan, Jameson, Jesse, Justice and Jeneva Turner, all of Wisconsin. Duane founded Grace Bible Church in Valley Falls NY. then established home bible studies. His great love was music and he enjoyed singing hymns, especially "How Great Thou Art". He also enjoyed gardening and bible teaching. Duane retired from GE Waterford in 1998. This supplemented his income to continue as a pastor and in raising his family of 6 children. He loved his Lord and looked forward to "Going Home". He leaves behind a sister Marcia Arthur / Hendersonville Tenn, a half-sister Catherine Kistler / Bradenton Florida, half-sister Mary [John] Kistler / St Maries Idaho, and half-brother John Michael Mishler / Dixon Missouri. Relatives and friends may call from 11am-12:30pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:30pm and burial with military honors will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
