Charles Robert "Rob" Tompkins Mechanicville, Saratoga County Charles Robert "Rob" Tompkins of South Second Avenue passed away at home peacefully on Thursday, December 30th 2021 with his family at his side. He was 66. Rob was born in Albany on October 3, 1955, son of the late Charles Bernard Tompkins and Phyllis (Langlois) Auty. He is the husband of Brenda (Dunbar/Lewis) Tompkins. An honorably discharged veteran of the US Navy, he served from February 1977-1981. Rob recently retired, after 39 years of loyal service with Liftech Equipment Companies of Schenectady, NY. There, he earned his Silver Master Mechanic certification. Rob enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, camping or riding his motorcycle. He was a devoted member of the Greater Grace Community Church of Malta and belonged to the SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club and the Christian Motorcyclist Association. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Brenda include his sons, Charles Michael (Christina) Tompkins of Clifton Park and Robert (Kathryn) Tompkins of Burnt Hills, his step children Kristin (Patrick) Beaudoin of Cohoes, Joshua Lewis of Broadalbin and Sarah (Kyle) Harris of Corinth as well as 13 grandchildren, his sister, Darlene (Raymond) Ratajczak of Broadalbin and his brother Sterling (Lisa) Auty, II of Upper Saddle River, NJ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Mechanicville United Methodist Church, 7 North Main Street, Mechanicville. A celebration of life will follow at the Mechanicville Elks Lodge, 300 Park Avenue, Mechanicville.
