Mechanicville, Saratoga County Charles Douglas Barton of Mechanicville, NY passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was 71. Charles was born August 20, 1950, a son of Hugh and Verna (Baldwin) Barton and is the husband of Deborah (Williams) Barton who he married in 2009. Charles served in the army from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Following his service in the army, he worked at Davies Office Supply. In younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and being outdoors. Many days he would wait at the kitchen table, looking out the window, waiting for his beloved Deb to come home from work. Survivors, in addition to his wife Deborah, include his two step children Robin Duso (Scott Dufore) of Ballston Spa, and Nathan (Angelique) of Malone. He is also survived by his step mother Norma (Cowden) Barton of Wilton, his brothers Norman (Brenda) Barton of Edinburgh, Glenn (Christine) Barton of Duanesburg, Garth Barton of Porters Corners, and his step sister Kim LeMay of Wilton, several nieces and nephews and was Grandpa Chuck to 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is predeceased by his stepdaughter Bethany Duso. Services will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 with military honors. Anyone wishing to join in procession to the cemetery is asked to meet at Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville at 10:00am.
