Melrose, Rensselaer County Catherine M. (Brunick) LeClair of Maple Lane passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was 73. Born on July 7, 1940 in Troy, daughter of the late Cloyd and Gladys (VanAlstyne) Brunick. She is the wife of Gerard "Shorty" LeClair whom she married on June 7, 1958. Mrs. LeClair was a member of the Hoosic Valley Senior Citizens and the Melrose Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She adored her grandchildren and loved Sunday drives and Tuesdays at the Town and Country Auction in Schuylerville. Survivors in addition to her husband "Shorty" include their children Gerard "Pete" (Angelina) LeClair of Troy, Kathleen (Kenneth) Perry of Troy, Nancy LeClair of Melrose and Michele (Brad Connolly) LeClair of Valley Falls. Siblings Sharon (Britt) Callanan of Mechanicville and Gary (Sharon) Brunick of Hemstreet Park, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is predeceased by her sisters Janet Messick and Claudine Sharp. Funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Monday, November 4 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
