Catherine M. Gonzalez, 68, of Clifton Park NY died Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Castleton on Hudson after a long illness. Catherine was born on January 19, 1955 to Theodore and Eleanor Gilboe in Troy, NY. After Catherine graduated High School from Keveny Memorial Academy in 1976, she went on to pursue her Bachelors Degree at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and then her Masters Degree at Assumption College. After graduating with a degree in Psychology she went on to work at the Association for Retarded Citizens as a House Manager and then later on she held a career with the NYS Advocates Office for Persons with Disabilities for 20+ years. She was a devoted Mother to Kennedy Gonzalez of Phoenix, Arizona and Aunt to her niece Marisa Ledesma-Henry of Troy, New York. She was passionate about animal welfare and volunteered with many local rescues. She had a love of quilting, crocheting and all things sewing. Her hands were always happily creating. She also loved nature photography. She is predeceased by her Mother Eleanor Gilboe, her Father Theodore Gilboe and Older Sister Mary Elizabeth Gilboe. She is survived by her son Kennedy (Zoe) Gonzalez of Phoenix, Arizona and beloved Niece Marisa (Neville) Henry of Troy, New York, her fur babies Laika Luv, Versace George and Dixie Rose. Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 12th at Cafe con Mel, 133 Remsen Street, Cohoes, New York. Hours will be from 3 to 5pm. In Lieu of flowers, Catherine requested donations be made to Homeward Bound Dog Rescue.
