Valley Falls, Rensselaer County Barbara L. OKonski of Master Street passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 19, 2022 after a long illness. She was 68. Born in Waterford on December 29, 1953. She is the wife of Arthur W. OKonski, Jr. Barbara was a devoted wife for 49 years. She married the love of her life, two weeks after graduating from Waterford-Halfmoon high school in 1973. They wasted no time starting their family. She spent her whole life being the most loving and caring mother of her eight children. She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and her dog Angel most of all in life. Barbara was a mom and grandma to many more than just her own. She enjoyed country concerts, and shopping with her girls and fishing with her boys. Survivors include her children, Arthur (Mandie) OKonski, Thomas (Sarah) OKonski, Jennifer (David) Marpe, Lisa (Brian) OKonski, Christina(Patrick)OKonski, Christopher OKonski and Jason (Nicole) OKonski as well as her grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, Ethan, Edward, Jacob, Addelyn, Hunter, Sebastian and Aiden. She is predeceased by her son, Kevin OKonski. Calling hours will be on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10am-12 noon at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main St., Schaghticoke. A service will be conducted at 12 noon with burial to follow in the family plot in St. Johns Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
