Barbara (Film) McNulty passed away April 17, 2024, she was 97.

Born on Lansing Avenue in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Briggs) Film of Schaghticoke. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Harold R. McNulty, who passed away in April 1964, and her sisters Margaret Phillips and Sophia "Tootie" Williams.

Barbara graduated from Hoosic Valley Central School in 1943 when the old schoolhouse was located on School Street in the village of Schaghticoke. She began her career as a Draftswomen for GE in Schenectady during WW II. She also worked for many years as the Town of Schaghticoke Tax Collector and as the Village Clerk. A longtime bookkeeper for local woodsman Leland Marcellus of Schaghticoke. She retired following over 20 years at Machnick Builders in Green Island.

In retirement she turned her lifelong artistic talent towards wood carving, creating a legacy of hundreds of beautiful carvings of all kinds over the next thirty years.

Barbara also inherited a love for horses from her horseman father "Abby" Film.

She rode and cared for her horses well into her later years.

Barbara is survived by her two sons Paul, (Chris) McNulty, grandchildren Margaret and Frank McNulty of Westborough, Massachusetts and David (Cathy) McNulty, grandchildren Jonathan McNulty, Andrew (Amy)Martin, great grandson Myles. Along with with her loving twin nieces Barbara (David) Milano of Castleton and Susan (Clifford) Viall of Schaghticoke and great niece Sarah (Thomas) O'Konski of Johnsonville, N.Y., predeceased by her great nephew Clifford Viall III.

The family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to all those wonderful special care aides that assisted with Barbara's care over the past several years and more recently the compassionate staff at the Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs.
