Stillwater, Saratoga County Anne Patricia VanVranken of Hudson Avenue passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 90. Born on January 23, 1933 in Schuylerville, daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Hamm) DeGarmo. She is the wife of Spencer "Jay" VanVranken who she married on August 27, 1955. Anne was a teacher at Schuylerville Central School and retired in 1993. She was an active member of the Stillwater United Church. She was a 4-H leader for over 50 years in Saratoga County and shared her incredible knowledge by judging at several local county fairs. Anne was also an avid quilter. Survivors in addition to her husband Jay include her children, Richard (Sheila Kanaley) VanVranken of Mays Landing, NJ, Michael (Lynn Vanderhoek) Van Vranken of Jamesville, Laura (Robert) Macey of Stillwater and Timothy (Beth) Van Vranken of Catonsville, MD., her nine grandchildren, Dana, Ian, Annalise, Mackenzie, Eleanor, Gerrit, Margaret, Janna and Gavin, three great grandchildren Bryce, Gavin and McKenna Jo as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brothers Chauncey DeGarmo, Herbert DeGarmo and Lindley DeGarmo. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5-7:00pm at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. A funeral service will be conducted at the Stillwater United Church, 747 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater on Saturday at 2:00pm. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery in the spring.
