Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County Andrew Richard Pregent, Sr. of Main Street passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at his residence following a long illness. He was 70. Born in Mechanicville on September 4, 1947, son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Smith) Pregent and his step father the late Bernie Pregent. Mr. Pregent served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, honorably discharged in 1969. He lived at one point in York, Maine and worked as a handyman at a local church and had also worked as a driver for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in Albany. Survivors include his children, Andrew R. (Angela) Pregent of Ballston Spa, Louis Pregent of Ravena, Eric Pregent of ID, Phillip (Mandy) Sheffer of Schaghticoke and Jordan Sheffer; his siblings, Peggy, Pete, Ginny and Tina.
