Allan H. Serven, 75, of Duffield, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 13, at Kingston Center Assisted Living Facility. Born in Troy, N.Y. to Jesse Haines Serven and Mamie Teal Serven-Coonradt, hed lived most of his life in the Capital Region.
Allan is survived by his son, Blaine M. Serven Sr., and daughter, Elizabeth Dale, and five grandchildren, Katie Negron, Blaine Serven Jr., Andrew Serven, Molly Serven, and Anthony Dale. Also, by his great grandchildren, Natalia and Daniel Negron.
Allan is also survived by his brother Jesse Serven, and sisters, Ruth Waterbury, Lulu Hamilton, and Barbara Coonradt. His stepbrother, Kenneth Coonradt Jr., and stepsister, Helen Mae Coonradt, have both passed away. Allan will be eternally loved and missed by his many nieces and nephews.
After 8 years of service, Allan was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam as a Para-jumper and Navigator for the 56th Special Operations Wing, Crash Recovery and Reclamation Unit. He was decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, 2- Vietnam Campaign Service Medals, and the National Defense Service Medal as well as Marksmanship Ribbon and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Interment ceremony with military honors will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
