With great sadness, the family of Albert J. Remancus announces his passing on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia, NY at the wonderful age of 99 after a short illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, NY on March 8, 1918, he was the son of the late Stephen and Margaret Leskowsky Remancus. Al was educated in Hoosick Falls graduating from St. Mary's Academy in 1938. He moved to Mechanicville after he married the love of his life, the late Mary M. Marzinsky whom he married July 3, 1943. Al worked for the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company in Mechanicville until its closing as a boiler operator. After its closing, he went to work for GE in Niskayuna also as a boiler operator. Al is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary J. and Michael A. Tarsa of Stillwater. Sadly, he was predeceased by his whole family, in addition to his parents, his brothers John (Lucille) and Stanley Remancus and his sisters Nell Schuh (Ed), Alice Pomiber (Tom), Theresa Rinaldi (Vincent), Edna Rinaldi (Ambrose), Florence Ogilvie (Doug) and Eva Poloski (Frank). He was also predeceased by his long time loving friend Rose Martone. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Mary Remancus of Hoosick Falls. Al is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was a life member of the Mechanicville Senior Center. Al enjoyed gardening and also enjoyed fishing with his brother in Lake Champlain and around the many streams & ponds in the area. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 9:45am-10:45am at the All Saints on the Hudson Church (formerly St. Paul's) in Mechanicville before the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00am. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
