Alan George Parker, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at home in Easton, NY. He was born April 11, 1942, in Utica, N.Y. to the late Burdette and Carolyn (Gifford) Parker. Alan dedicated his life to public service, serving 35 years with the New York State Police, achieving the rank of Sergeant/ Station Commander. After retiring he enjoyed being stay at home Dad, socializing and joking with family and friends, riding horses, fishing and the Washington County Fair where he enjoyed being a 4-H Horse Barn Dad (and the breakfast egg sandwiches with Don). He was an active member of the Clearwater Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Cambridge Saddle Club. He is survived by his loving wife Marygrace, beloved children - daughter Alana and sons Michael (Kathleen) and Scott (Maya) Parker; grandchildren Serena, Neena, and Michael Maynard Parker; sisters Lynette Stannard (Richard), Lorraine Harmon (Warren), Jeannine Case (Jim); special cousins Elnora Berndt and Carol Ozark; many very special nieces and nephews - including Allison Fay Lemorta (Dave), Michelle Matrazzo McCormick (Bryan) and Anthony Fay (Nicole) and Cassandra Lynne Channing-Hughes (Mike) whom he considered his special daughters and son; several grandnieces and grandnephews; the extended Matrazzo/Castelli family that embraced him as their own; and a large circle of many great friends including very special friends: Marilyn Emerick, Nancy and Richard Dick Fossett, Cheri Monaco and daughters Jennifer and Jessica, the Shankar family, Michael Bentzen and family, all the extended H & H Barn families especially Joan/Megan Harris , Janet Brown Williamson and Anne Hayes, the Raney family, the Forcier family, the Rob Hughes family, the Bapp family; the Lopez-Hammond family, Julia Clark Gates and family, Norm/June Channing, the Fahey family, Linda and Don Baker, John and Paulette Baniak, Carol/John Stinner family, the Anhui Sisters Adoption families, especially Patti/Brenyn Hart, the Borden/Albrights, the Vances, and the Chapmans. Alan was a tremendously devoted father, husband and loyal friend whose steadfastness, integrity, humor and kindness will forever be missed and remembered. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 28 at 11:00 AM by the Reverend Dr. Donna J. Arnold, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Schuylerville, New York. Following the service and throughout the day and evening, family and friends are welcome to gather to celebrate Alans life along with food, drink and sharing of memories at the Parker residence 146 Cheese Factory Road, Greenwich, NY.
